Facs stands for Family & Consumer Sciences. A better title for this class would be Exploratory Facs because in this class we explore all the areas of Family & Consumer Sciences.
Health, Nutrition, Child Care, Foods, Housing, Finance, Relationships, and Sewing are a few of the topics we will study.
Yes, we will take home the Baby Think-It-Over dolls some time this year. We will also cook a bit, and sew a project. Facs also is all about the soft skills of the workplace. Teamwork and leadership are key to your future.
FCCLA programs such as Power of One, Star Evetns, and participation in National Programs will help develop these needed skills.

- I have taught public school for 17 years, 8 1/2 of those years have been in Family & Consumer Sciences. I graduated from Brigham Young University in 1982 I am enrolled in MSU graduate school for my Masters Degree. Currently I serve on MoEFACS Board, MoACTE Board, and am a Mentor Teacher for Missouri FACS.
