FCCLA officers met Thursday Aug. 20 and set dues at $13.50 for the 09-10 school year. Arrive Alive t-shirts have been ordered and will arrive shortly. The first 25 members to pay dues can have a FREE t-shirt.

We are also looking at designs for the FCCLA t-shirt. The theme this year is: "Hitch up your Leadership FCCLA is going Country. So we are looking at country and western logos.
If you have an idea, be sure to bring it to the officers attention asap.

Football season is here! Friday night is our first game. Concession stand workers are needed. Sign up in the Facs Hallway TODAY!

Foods and Culinary Classes

It's been a great start to a new year. All the cooking classes have become familiar to the kitchens and have cooked once or twice. Let's Talk about absences...

If you are absent, be sure to make-up the work. If you miss a cooking lab, you must arrange with me to cook at home and bring in a "mommy note" telling what you cooked and how it went and have them sign it.

Digital Storytelling: Life a Choice to Walk

Digital Story: http://digicamp.fliggo.com/video/mwqIMrjR

I made this video during Digital Storytelling camp at MU this summer. We worked hard for one frantic week to complete our projects in time. I had technology issues, of course, and we worked at an almost frantic pace to finish by Friday of the week. I am happy with the story I told because it is something I feel strongly about. Look for symbolism embedded through out the video.

See if you can get from this the messages I meant for it to tell.

Buckle Up Message

Early September AHS FCCLA will be stenciling the exits to the parking lots with "Buckle Up". This project is in conjunction with MoDot who provides the stencil and the paint. FCCLA members are asked to volunteer their time and abilities to paint the stencils.

FCCLA will also sponsor Project Life Guard the month of September working with community volunteers to pass out treats and prizes at the parking lot after school to students who are buckled up.
